Week of April 28th, 2013

Sunday Sean had his RE class and then we had church.  After church one of his friend that does the RE class too came over.  We had lunch and they played.
For dinner we had a big BBQ with ribs and shrimp.

Monday morning Jacob had his math class before school and one of Amber's friends mom wanted me to watch her daughter while she had a meeting with a teacher.  So we were at school quite early this morning.  I had coffee with a friend at school and then went to the store.  By the time I got the groceries put away, had lunch, exercised, shower it was time to go back to school.  All the kids had haircuts after school today.

Tuesday morning Sean's belly wasn't feeling any better.  I had feed him a gluten free breakfast which I thought might help but he was still in pain.  So I made an appt. with a Dr. for this morning.
The Dr. checked him out and couldn't find anything wrong, but she said lets start with some tests.  So the first one is collecting a sample of poop- always so lovely!  So I told him if he can wait to go poop until after school please do, if not we will just wait until you go again.  The Dr. gave him some medicine to help with the cramping so we stopped by the pharmacy on the way home.  He got his medicine in and then off to school.
After this I spent the rest of the school day in the kitchen.  I volunteered to help bake for the May Fest at school tomorrow.  I baked a cake from scratch for the cake walk and then some Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for the bake sale.
After school Sean had math, but then his belly was hurting so he skipped tennis and then we just picked Jacob up after track.
Tonight I was able to get Sean's sample but since it is a holiday tomorrow everything is closed.  So it has to sit in the fridge now, so lovely!

Wednesday was May 1st, May Day is a holiday here, like Labor Day at home.  The school every year has a festival for it.  That is what I was baking for yesterday.  So around 10:30 we went over.  Amber got her face painted and a tattoo.  They have an American BBQ for lunch, so hotdogs and hamburgers.  Then we get some goodies from the bake sale!  We bought the boys tickets and then they just walked around with their friends doing things.

Any guesses what song they are dancing too?

Amber also did the bounce house and the animal hunt in the open bush tree area.  The boys did throw the wet sponge at a teacher.  Instead of a dunk tank the kids can throw a big wet sponge at whoever is sitting in the chair.  Jacob got his track coach!  The boys left early and went to see Iron Man 3.  Gotta grab those movies in English when you can.  We don't get many!
We enjoyed visiting with friends and then we were getting cold and Amber was very whiny so we came home and took a nap!  After 3 hours Amber woke up!
Jacob finished reading his latest book, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea so we rented the movie and watched it tonight.  It was good.

Thursday morning after Sean ate breakfast he got bad cramping again, so I am wondering if it was the milk that is bothering him? His lunch was gluten and lactose free and he was fine.   I dropped off his sample today at the lab but it will take 3 days to analyze.  I had a follow up appt. for my toe.  She thinks it is gone, but I am now losing both toe nails, gross.  Under one there is something there, but she said it should go away.  I got to the store and found some foods that were gluten and lactose free and got some for Sean to try.
After school I went to pick up Amber, then an hour later back to pick up Sean and our neighbor from basketball.  Jason was able to get Jacob from track and then I took him back to school for guitar.
Dinner we had sweet potatoes, pork tenderloin, watermelon and veggies, and a gluten free roll for Sean and he was fine.
This week at our house, the basement is drying out and they put up new drywall where they tore it out.

Friday I had tennis and we played outside.  It is a clay court and I didn't play very well.  It was also a little too cold for my liking.
Today after school we had Sean's b'day party at an indoor play area.  My friend and I drove 10 of the boys over there after school.  Jacob went over to a friend's house and Amber rode with my friend and they came over to the party with her crew to join us.  A few other boys met us there.  They love this place.  It is big with a lot of room and like 4 stories of climby things and trampolines and a huge slide!  Jason met us over there.

Amber is too young to go down the slide by herself.  They have a person sitting up there.  So Jason took her down and she was kind of sitting on his legs and feet and he had his work socks on.

He said that it hurt his feet on the way down and when we looked at his socks they were all torn up at the bottom and he got blisters on his feet from it!  Crazy!  They were nylon and they kind of just melted.   It is a big drop down.
The kids had pizza and an ok cake.

I couldn't bring in anything.  Sean really wanted his party here, but I wasn't crazy about the price here.
After the party Jason left to go get Jacob and bring him home and that took an hour b/c of where the boy lives and traffic.  I took 1 boy to his house and then brought another home with us for a sleep over.  Sean had a great day and enjoyed his sleep over with his friend.

Sat. Sean's friend left just before lunch.  After lunch we went down to the city center.  It was a beautiful day and it was very crowded downtown.  We walked around and down to the Grund to go mini golfing, pretty sad place.  The greens are just these metal like things covered with green.

Amber didn't like it because she wasn't very good at it.  The rest of us enjoyed the sad put put!  After this we walked around the bend and went to the park and then back up through the center.

Sean has been wanting to do a bonfire for awhile but the weather hasn't been nice.  So we did a bonfire and then a BBQ.  I got Sean's b'day cake made and some homemade chocolate donuts!

Amber's friend stopped by and then joined us for dinner.   We tried to do smores after dinner, but we only had little marshmallows so it didn't work too well.  Sean was trying the peep smores!
Then we watched the movie, Thor.  It was pretty good.
