Week of April 29th, 2012

Sunday the boys were busy in the morning putting together all Sean's new lego sets he got for his b'day.  I checked on the 2 boys that bumped into each other at the party yesterday and the mom's said that the swelling had gone down but their bumps were blue and a bit sore were they bumped.  So I hope they feel better soon.  Maybe lazer tag need helmets!
Today it started out gloomy and we dropped Jacob off at another Lazer tag party.  With Sean's party yesterday he got a lot of lazer tag in this weekend.  So after we dropped of Jacob the sun came out and it was beautiful the rest of the day! We took the kids to the pirate park and they played for an hour.  Then we came home and a bit later I went back to get Jacob.  At this b'day party I saw a girl getting her ankle iced.  The b'day boy had invited the whole class to his party.  Then our kids just enjoyed playing outside.  We made some strawberry cupcakes for the school carnival on Tuesday this week.
After dinner I took Amber on her bike for a walk and we stopped by the park close to us as well.  Nice day!

Monday was another fairly sunny day and I think the last one of the week, as rain is again in the forecast!
We dropped off the cupcakes at school for the bake sale tomorrow.
Sean had a friend come over after school to play.  It is so interesting hearing about where other kids are from and what languages they speak at home.  One of Amber's friends and one of Sean's friends both have a sibling in college already.  Crazy!
Tonight the rain came back and with lighting and thunder which normally don't happen here.

Tuesday is May Day here, so it is a holiday.  The school put on a May fest, like a carnival at school today.  It was sunny in the morning and by the time we went it was getting cloudy.  We went later in the morning and Amber got her face painted like a butterfly.
They were having an American BBQ with hamburgers and hotdogs, so we had lunch.  It was a nice BBQ.  They also had an International table where people had made dishes from other countries and then the bake sale for desserts.  Jason was still amazed that they were selling beer and champagne at school!
They had a bouncy that Amber did.  They had a wet sponge throwing game where the students got to throw wet sponges at a teacher who was seated in a chair.  The boys enjoyed doing this!  They had different items for sale, a DJ, a band playing and the pom squad performed.  A lot of people were there so it was nice to see everyone.  And the sun came back out!
After the carnival we came back home and then Jason left for London, and the boys had a set of brothers over that are in their same grades as well.  Amber wanted her nails painted at the MayFest but I ran out of tickets so I told her we will just paint your nails at home.  So when we got home I had to paint her nails and her toe nails.  She was quite excited.  She had never had her toenails painted before and only one time has she had her finger nails painted.

Wednesday was the morning of Amber's preschool field trip.  The room parents had gotten all the snacks and we had cut everything up.  So this morning right when we go to leave for school it just starts pouring like cats and dogs.  It is so dark out, and then the lightening even came back.  So they cancelled the field trip and used all the snacks to have an indoor picnic today.  They said they will reschedule the field trip so we will see.  Around here the weather is not very cooperative!
So all the chaperones we went up to the caferteria for some coffee and a chat.  At least that was nice.
After RE today Sean and I made his cupcakes to take in to school on Friday to celebrate his b'day so he enjoyed that!

Thursday morning I was busy getting ready for my parents to arrive.  After Amber and I had lunch we headed over to the airport to pick them up.  Of course my GPS wasn't working  most of the way, so I wasn't very happy and was trying to remember how to get there- ugh!  By the time we got there we only waited about 2 minutes and out they came.  They had a good, but long flight.  From here we went to school to pick up Jacob and see Sean off to basketball, and show them the school.  We made a big dinner, and it was an early bedtime for them!  Amber was so excited to see them I think she talked non stop to them until they went to bed.  She just had so much to tell them!
Sean and I put the final touches on his Indiana Jones cupcakes for tomorrow.

Friday morning my mom came with me to school to drop off the kids and then we stayed with a few moms and had coffee.  Dad relaxed at home.  Then I drove mom around town a bit.  Then we had to be back at school before lunch to bring in Sean's cupcakes and celebrate with his class.  It was very nice.  He got to wear a big birthday hat.

All the kids enjoyed the cupcakes which cracks me up because it was the same mix as the cake which the boys wouldn't eat at the party, but in a cupcake.  After school I even had 2 boys come up to me and tell me how good and how much they liked the cupcakes!

After Sean's b'day celebrations there was one cupcake left so we took it to Jacob in the lunch room, so he was happy with that!  Then we picked up Amber from school and went out to a good Italian restaurant for lunch.
After school Sean and I baked his cake for his b'day.  Then I made the blueberry coffee cake for his breakfast in bed and I made some yummy chicken noodle soup for dinner.  Jason got home from Paris and got the grass cut just in time for dinner and then it started to pour.  So all worked out well!  I got the house and Sean's door all decorted for tomorrow.

Sat. morning Sean came in my room around 7:45 saying he was so hungry so when was I going to bring him his breakfast in bed!  I had already told him it wasn't going to be before 8am yesterday.  So I got up and got things ready and we all sang to him and served him his breakfast in his bed.  He was so excited!

After breakfast he opened his presents and liked it all.

This morning we took my parents into the downtown city center area.  We walked all around.

They were having some type of festival thing so tents/houses of things everywhere.  We stopped in the Chocolate House and got some of that yummy hot chocolate that comes with a chunk of chocolate on a spoon that you melt in warm milk-yummy!
We showed them a bunch of sites and then by lunch time Amber had had enough.  So we came home for lunch and then the boys went to a Rugby game, Luxembourg vs. Greece in the afternoon.  They thought it was interesting.  None of them had seen one before so something new.
For Sean's b'day dinner he picked this Japanese restaurant we had been to before just down the street from us.  So we all had a nice dinner and then some b'day cake and ice cream to celebrate with when we got home!

Hope you had a great day sunshine!
